SCP-048 Hoodie — “Retired Designation”

This design represents SCP-048, a designation so ill-fated that it was removed entirely from the SCP catalog.

Rather than depicting a single contained object, the artwork focuses on the number itself — fractured, eroded, and surrounded by the visual language of loss and erasure. SCP-048 has no stable form, no surviving anomaly, and no consistent history. Any SCP assigned this number has inevitably been destroyed, decommissioned, stolen, or otherwise lost, often alongside the personnel tasked with overseeing it.

The illustration reflects that instability: a stark, gothic etching where the numerals appear worn, broken, and cursed by implication rather than spectacle. There is no monster, no artifact — only the aftermath of repeated failure. The absence is the point.

Printed in a cohesive black-and-ivory etching style to match the rest of the SCP series, this hoodie is designed to feel archival, ominous, and restrained — as if it shouldn’t exist, but does anyway.
